You guys were so fab and Dawn was such a lovely presence in the schools - I will absolutely be in touch next time I'm in your neck of the woods. However, as he and his Montmorency Year 6 classmates begin their school journey at ‘ Crater Lake’, there are fresh worries.

Enjoyed how the author dealt with the difficult transition from primary to secondary school amidst the sporelings attack. CRATER LAKE EVOLUTION is also a book about the pressures put on friendships due to starting new schools, how new environments, different schools, and new people can influence people into changing and the toll that takes.

I’d recommend this book, as it’s an absolutely amazing book, full of laughs and also some very creepy beings. Alongside the action, there’s witty dialogue and a strong message about staying loyal to your friends and how to stand up for yourself against bullies, whether they’re mean kids, monstrous teachers – or even body-snatching aliens. He brought some much needed lightness into the book with his jokes, his hair and how he loves that a tad too much to the point that we find out why people in his house aren’t contaminated, his comments on what is happening, and more. Author Guy Bass introduces SCRAP, about one robot who tried to protect the humans on his planet against an army of robots. At the activity centre they are given a strange reception and fed only on warm soup but it’s when they go to bed that things take a turn for the worse.

It was such a pleasure to meet you both, and I really appreciated how smoothly and professionally you ran everything. Cleverly, and at exactly the right times, the heart stopping, genuinely nerve shredding scenes are swiftly interspersed and intertwined with boisterous banter, some sarky side comment or a comedy quip from Lance and the gang. She also loves visiting schools and libraries, whether virtually or in person, to talk about her books with her readers. I was gripped by the story and the characters on their school trip and the the danger of falling asleep.Montmorency School’s Form Six students are fortunate to be the first school party to spend a few days at Crater Lake.

There is every chance the kids would love all this and the book is OF COURSE written for them not me. She tells the group that they are ‘ the first school to be trying out this centre‘ so are ‘ extremely fortunate. It’s an unknown location that Miss Hoche suggests will provide ‘an unforgettable learning experience. Yourself and Bob are much cherished in our booky world and I personally really appreciate everything that you do. I really love this book because it mixes several genres together ; it has it's humorous side but it also is a little bit suspenseful and mysterious.

They would also only drop off a case of books and leave us to run it – it was so lovely to have you on hand to chat to the children and recommend them books, as well as the small (but appreciated! Whilst Killick stopped short of referring to trainers as sneakers, names such as Lance, Trent and Adrianne had an American feel, as did the use of words such as dorms and freaking. When a disturbance occurs in the town and strange things start happening, Lance knows it is related to the activities at Crater Lake. They’re pacy, entertaining stories with a sense of gore and friendship which current kids would definitely be on board with.It was wonderful seeing how the characters had grown since their time at Crater Lake and how they had dealt with the fall out from it. At night, things become even stranger, and Lance and his gang find themselves the only youngsters not affected by a weird, zombie-like trance that has gripped the rest of school party. Lovereading 4 Kids Updates from the world of children's books » Blog Archive » What’s it like being a Lovereading4kids Book Reviewer? Most of the Crater crew have fallen out with each other but he has a new friend in Karim and is still friends with Chets.
