After #3: Amazing Spider-Man 16 & 18 After #4: Untold Tales of Spider-Man Annual ’97 After #6: Uncanny X-Men #13 Technically, Elektra shows up in Daredevil’s solo series prior to the completion of issue #40 (the completion of Bendis and Maleev’s book 1). If you really want, you could start reading Elektra around Daredevil #30. Personally, I’d just fill in the solo Elektra if you’re so inclined.

The Man Without Fear: An updated Daredevil origin story that is very good. My only complaint is that Elektra is supposed to be around college age and she looks like a 60 year old with bad plastic surgery. This is not the first time Punisher and Daredevil have crossed paths, but for my money, it is the definitive event. The first time on paper we see the lengths to which they’ll go… and just how much Frank respects Matt. This brief encounter sets up at least three future arcs — entire storylines — for Daredevil comics and should be considered essential reading. Epic editions are also listed below in their chronological placement, as they are frequently the only coverage of a specific run. After #185: Dazzler #21, Contest of Champions #1-3, Hulk #277-299, Marvel Two-in-One #96, Marvel Team-Up #123, Marvel Fanfare #7 So this big ass book, they call those Omnibus, starts off with Frank Miller as actually just a artist. But a couple of issues in he becomes a plotter too. And by about 7 or 8 issues in he becomes the actual writer of this series while Klaus Janson continues the excellent art with Miller's penciling. What really worked well here with the two is both are artist and Frank Miller, when he was on the top of his game, was a hell of a writer/plotter.

For the past few years, Lee had created an indelible series of flawed, human heroes whose powers doubled as afflictions. The Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, The X-Men – these characters were compelled to be heroes by the curse of their abilities, and they were all as interesting out of costume as in.Before Marvel Knights in Fantastic Four (1998) #36. After Marvel Knights, in Sentry / The Void, Amazing Spider-Man, Vol. 2 #36, Spider-Man: Mysterio Manifesto #1-3. Punisher v. Daredevil (2000) is a one-shot reprinting #183-184 & 257 Around this time Daredevil makes guest appearances in New Avengers #31-34 (mostly a non-speaking participant), Superior Spider-Man Team-Up #1, Trial of The Punisher #2, Deadpool Annual 1, Avengers A.I. #7, Superior Spider-Man Team-Up #9-10, and Superior Foes of Spider-Man #9-10. Matt Draper, a comics-focused YouTuber who likes to analyse every bit of Daredevil lore as if it was Dostoevsky, has this video on the story. So watch that if you want to hear about its themes: crime and redemption, salvation through love, perdition through loss. Whatever. With Daredevil presumed dead, the heroes of Hell’s Kitchen mourn their fallen friend. And come to fear someone new… Axis: See Marvel Universe Events: Axis. Daredevil appears briefly in Axis, but also continues to intersect with Iron Man’s solo stories as part of the event.

Secret Empire: See Guide to Marvel Universe events – Secret Empire. This fits after issue #25 for Matt. He appears in Secret Empire (2017) #0, Uncanny Avengers (2015) #25, Doctor Strange (2015) #21-24, Secret Empire (2017) #6 & 9 A modernization of Daredevil’s origin and early adventures. Recollected in 2019 as Daredevil: Fearless Origins Fear Itself: Daredevil joins the Avengers during this event and appears throughout their tie-ins. See Marvel Events: Fear Itself.
