Description

This book also talks about the depth by which a trauma can effect a person and can be major barrier affecting not only their present but future as well and all of it is just because we're not giving enough attention to things triggering us and we are just trying to find happiness by focusing on what could or might happen in the future not knowing that it actually is a process of disassociation. I won't recommend this book to people who go through self-sabotage tendencies. I believe that good old therapy works best and that there exists other self-help books that are way more scientifically approved. I recommend The Happiness Trap by Dr. Harris to change your perspective on life instead of this one. It was only when I reached the lowest part of my life months after that made decide to read it again. It was the exact moment when I told myself “I don’t want to be in this dark place any longer.”

Climbing a mountain is a journey, and you are the mountain. Embrace the journey and conquer your fears." Brianna Wiest’s masterpiece is the perfect roadmap for understanding why we self-sabotage, when we do it, and how to stop doing it—for good. Dr. Steven Eisenberg, Wellbeing & Connection Expert, Renowned Internist & Oncologist One effective way to delve into The Mountain Is You is through its quotes. Although more profound within the book’s context, these quotes also offer valuable standalone insights. Most Popular Quote A few parts of the book were captivating and resonated with me but then drifted off into a massive mountain (no pun intended) of self help cliches... Some quotes I found to be disappointing and degrading as well : “self sabotage is ultimately just a product of low emotional intelligence” p.103 (I mean…really ?!)

Top 7 Ideas of The Mountain is You Wiest humanizes the struggles we face in the first part of her book and analogizes them to mountains. Each of us has our own 'mountain,' a colossal manifestation of limiting beliefs, fears, and self-destructive habits. The book teaches us that the journey to self-mastery is essentially about conquering these personal 'mountains.' The idea is to identify and take responsibility for these self-sabotaging habits and, ultimately, to overcome them. This is one of the best books I've read in 2021 and that's a huge statement considering how I've been reading like a lunatic this year.

Brianna Wiest is a writer and author who is best known for her work in the field of personal growth, self-improvement, and mental health. She was born in 1991 and is based in Salt Lake City, Utah. Nope, that’s not how our brain works. Has the author ever hear about childhood trauma? Or any real person? The thing that feels “right” most of the time is what is familiar, and what is familiar is not always good for you. All new things come with discomfort which can feel wrong and very few of us can distinguish what is actually right for us, like being safe and healthy would feel boring and weird for many. The mountain is a metaphor for life, with its peaks and valleys, but remember that you are capable of overcoming both. Bad feelings should not always be interpreted as deterrents. They are also indicators that you are doing something frightening and worthwhile. Not wanting to do something would make you feel indifferent about it. Fear = interest. Brianna Wiest, 101 Essays You will come through chapters like (There is no such thing as self-sabotage), (Building emotional intelligence) and(Building a new future), there will be some parts that are better, some parts that sound to make everyone perfect from inside, everyone has the ultimate wisdom inside them, these in some parts make you question and contemplate. But overall it is still a great book.
